Reason for nomination:

Lauren is a 17 year old young lady and has been volunteering with Dudley Young Health Champions since September 2017. Lauren is a part of the Senior Student Leadership Team at her school and is an incredibly hard working, influential young lady. Lauren puts her heart into everything she does and does everything with passion. She has thrown herself into a range of projects to support other people who may be vulnerable, or to teach other young people about important topics.

Lauren helped another Young Health Champion with a collection for the homeless and vulnerable and managed to get the whole of her school involved in donating items of clothing, toiletries and food items. As well as this, Lauren has taken part in various training courses such as Thrive and Suicide Prevention delivered by Papyrus.

Lauren is very passionate about mental health and suicide and showed this by organising an enrichment day on the February 2018 and delivered a lesson to Year 7 students around mental health and suicide awareness. Lauren also organised and held a non-uniform day on Thursday 29th March 2018 where students paid £1 to wear their own clothes and also made green ribbons to sell for 50p. The charity Lauren chose for the money to go to was Papyrus and she raised a grand total of £600.
