Highly Commended – Chloe Sallis

Chloe is another inspirational volunteer, giving her time to help her local community and she’s just 16!

Volunteering Activity:

The Hope Centre.

Reason for nomination:

Chloe has been volunteering at the hope centre as a receptionist and support officer. Answering the phones taking messages and welcoming visitors. Chloe is only just 16yrs old so her volunteering is limited to school holidays and bank holidays. Chloe came and asked if she could volunteer she said “I want to give something back to my community, I want to help and do whatever I can to help others, especially other young people.  I want to support hope” I’m sure you would agree she is inspiring.

Chloe was never late, always committed and ready to take on new tasks, always welcoming to others and always fun. Chloe manages the reception to perfection and has taught us so much about social media!  Chloe would take telephone messages and present hope in a positive way.

Chloe was sensitive to the needs of others and understood the importance of confidentiality and was a great asset to all our volunteers here. For a 16yr old Chloe is amazing supporting individuals in her community a non-judgemental way.

Chloe chose to volunteer her time in the community and to push herself and set herself goals such as increasing her confidence, improving her mental well-being and making new positive friendships. We are so proud to call Chloe a volunteer/ member at The hope centre– she contributes so much to the centre here, and really goes out of her way to make sure that she is an exemplary young leader – being a real role model, empowering and inspiring other young people in particular those who are less able to help themselves initially
